Today is Thursday, April 8, the 98th day of 2010. There are 267 days left in the year.
Today was a cluster of a totally unspeakable hell. This morning I started the day a hour or so earlier because our entire morning show was based out at the new ONEOK Drillers field. This means that Alan was also live from the ballpark. I have been playing with a new way of allowing live talent in the field to advance and control their own graphics. I have been waiting on a event to test it and today was the perfect storm. Alan was a trooper at letting me toy with his shows and make changes that worked out quite well. I am pondering doing a 1 sheet one how it can be done again in the mornings. I can’t see this being a small show or a normal live shot but for a full 4 hour show I think its great. During the show it was a cluster with limited communication with the crews in the field and at the station. I had a backup plan with Alan to communicate using 2 way radios rather than IFB and cellphones. I feel so sorry for Lindsay because she had to booth the entire show on her own and our new recruit never once stepped in to help or offer assistance. Lindsay’s last day is tomorrow and that makes me really sad.
I came home and skipped the gym for the 3rd day in a row. I’m such a bad person.
